EPC SEPA Payment for MOL, NMCD

On Mar. 6, EPC said MOL, NMCD entered the SEPA payment scheme.

  • EPC said that the Republic of North Macedonia and Moldova have been approved to be part of the (Single Euro Payments Area) SEPA payment schemes' geographical scope.
  • Purpose
  • The geographical scope of the SEPA payment schemes now covers 40 countries.
  • EPC payment scheme participants will be able to send, receive SEPA Credit Transfer (SCT), SEPA Instant Credit Transfer (SCT Inst), SEPA Direct Debit (SDD) transactions.
  • To and from SCT, SCT Inst and SDD scheme participants from North Macedonia and Moldova as of when their financial institutions have adhered to respective schemes.
  • Effectiveness
  • The adherence of financial institutions from these countries to the SEPA payment schemes, according to the EPC calendar, will be enabled starting from Apr. 2025.
  • The Operational Readiness Date (ORD) for payment service providers (PSPs) from the Republic of North Macedonia and Moldova is set for Oct. 5, 2025.
