On Mar. 6, EPC said MOL, NMCD entered the SEPA payment scheme.
EPC said that the Republic of North Macedonia and Moldova have been approved to be part of the (Single Euro Payments Area) SEPA payment schemes' geographical scope.
Purpose
The geographical scope of the SEPA payment schemes now covers 40 countries.
EPC payment scheme participants will be able to send, receive SEPA Credit Transfer (SCT), SEPA Instant Credit Transfer (SCT Inst), SEPA Direct Debit (SDD) transactions.
To and from SCT, SCT Inst and SDD scheme participants from North Macedonia and Moldova as of when their financial institutions have adhered to respective schemes.
Effectiveness
The adherence of financial institutions from these countries to the SEPA payment schemes, according to the EPC calendar, will be enabled starting from Apr. 2025.
The Operational Readiness Date (ORD) for payment service providers (PSPs) from the Republic of North Macedonia and Moldova is set for Oct. 5, 2025.
