Summary
Under proposals, credit rating agencies (CRAs) will be required to disclose credit ratings together with the assessment of stand-alone creditworthiness of rated entities.
Credit rating agencies are going to be required to describe both the quantitative and qualitative factors that determine an entities ability to meet their financial obligations, as well as explain how these factors affect the credit rating and its outlook.
The document brings uniformity to the practice of disclosing information on the assignment, extension and removal of “under supervision” status of a credit rating.
This status indicates an increased likelihood of a rating change in the future.
Innovations are designed to provide a consumers with access to clearer justifications for credit ratings and are aimed at ensuring transparency of rating activities.
