During the emergency as per the Sep. 27, 2025, executive order (EO 26), NC INS reminds health benefit plans of compliance requirements for operations.
Specifically, operations of such health benefit plans under a state of emergency with regard to obtaining extra prescriptions during a state of emergency or disaster.
NC INS authorizes extra prescriptions during this state of emergency in North Carolina for prescription medication requests made within 29 days of issuance of this bulletin.
This will not be extended unless instructed by an order issued by the Commissioner.
Extra Prescription Requests
These requests can be submitted until Oct. 28, 2025, unless extended.
