Legislative Provisions
Added new definition of electronic means meaning relating to technology having electrical, digital, magnetic, wireless, optical, electromagnetic, or similar capabilities.
Organization may also issue notice of disputed decision on claims for benefits for any decision made by informal internal review by electronic means (in addition to mail).
Party has 45 days from the day the notice of decision was issued by the organization by regular mail or electronic means to file a written request for reconsideration.
Provides WSI ability to transmit related forms, notices of decisions, and administrative orders electronically; increases lifetime max. for death benefits from $300k to $400k.
Added an escalator that increases the lifetime maximum by $10,000 every two years.
Increased maximum scholarship payable per applicant from $10k per year to $12,500.
