Within 90 days of closing a fire loss/damage claim, an insurer shall report to insurance commissioner, including 3rd-party vendor, each loss of property reported to insurer.
Report must include address, date of loss, amount the insurer paid on each coverage.
Known origin of loss, if criminal activity or undetermined, and NAIC company number.
Documents, materials, reports, data, investigations, are confidential and privileged, not subject to public disclosure or civil matter subpoena directed to the commissioner.
Data in the aggregate form are deemed open records available for public inspection.
Reporting may not be enforced against insurer until one year after rules are adopted.
Beginning 12 months after the reporting requirements are initiated, WAS INS will post a quarterly report on their website based on aggregate fire loss or damage findings.
