Bill Provisions
Requires a person who offers a contract with automatic renewal provision to disclose certain information to consumer regarding renewal and cancellation of the contract.
Also requires disclosure of expiration of the trial period and purchase obligations.
Upon expirations, voids renewal contract provision that violates these requirements.
Authorizes Division of consumer protection to enforce the provisions and sets fines.
The bill amends UTA LEG 13-2-1, Consumer protection division established functions.
