SBA made disaster loans available for Illinois businesses and residents affected by the ice jams and flooding occurring in the State from in Jan. 15 to Jan. 25, 2024.
Eligibility
Covers Will County, adjacent Cook, DuPage, Grundy, Kankakee, Kendall, ILL; Lake, IN.
For small businesses, agricultural cooperatives, businesses engaged in aquaculture and most private nonprofits, SBA offers Economic injury disaster loans (EIDLs).
EIDLs are intended to help meet working capital needs caused by the disaster and aid is available regardless of whether the business suffered any physical damage.
Loans up to $500,000 are available to homeowners to repair damaged real estate.
Homeowners eligible for up to $100,000 to repair damaged personal property.
Applicants may be eligible for loan amount increase up to 20% for mitigation purposes.
Eligible mitigation improvements may include a safe room or storm shelter, sump pump, French drain or retaining wall to help protect property. occupants from damage.
